Footroot and gastrointestinal nematodes have a significant economic impact on the sheep industry of Alentejo. The aims of this project are disease characterization of Alentejo sheep farms and use of state-of-the-art genomic methodologies for the identification of genetic markers associated with disease resistance for genetic selection and breeding.
